What is a domestic-concierge?
Years ago, the butler did it. Today, you may not have a butler, but getting help managing your home is both practical and cost effective.
A domestic-concierge helps you get things done.

Cool Topiaries

Topiaries look great as indoor and outdoor table and front porch decoration. They also make great hostess gifts. With just a little green thumb know how you too can easily create your own instant topiary look.

Step 1 Go to your favorite garden center.

Step 2 Choose the type of plant you wish to use for the topiary. Choose types that can be easily trimmed into the shape you desire. I like dwarf boxwood and rosemary. Look for plants that have a single trunk and are already growing in a ball or cone like shape. Small citrus, and olive trees also work well in larger pots, because they have that topiary shape with relatively no shaping.

Step 3 Pick out some pots. Plain terracotta works well, it is inexpensive, can be given a variety of finishes and imparts a Tuscan feel If creating for a table top select smaller size pots and a very small saucer. Saucers on the table top should offer moisture protection, but not detract from the pot. (Remember to always remove the topiary from the table when watering)

Step 4 Plant plants in pots. Water well. Follow the instructions on the plant tag for light, water and fertilizer needs. As the plant grows you will need to replant or plant in the ground in the future.

Step 5 Lightly snip into shape.

Step 6 Although not necessarily needed, you can add a bow, moss, small pea gravel, ornaments, or a card to your topiary. Decorating with multiple topiaries is especially stunning.
